Describe the cleaning job first
Begin with the surfaces, dirt and working environment your customers need to handle. A quotation for occasional vehicle cleaning may need different features from one for daily site work. Describe the expected session length, frequency of use and need to move the machine, then ask for a configuration suitable for that application.
- Identify the surface material and the type of dirt to be removed.
- State where the machine will be used and whether power and water are available.
Match the quotation to the cleaning task
Use the table to describe the job before requesting a pressure figure. Ask for the proposed nozzle, working settings and a sample evaluation on the intended surface. Confirm the method against the machine and surface instructions.
| Cleaning task | Details to provide | What to assess in the quotation |
|---|---|---|
| Vehicles and painted equipment | Paint condition, dirt, detergent needs and wash frequency | Approved nozzle, pressure setting and spray distance for the surface |
| Paving and other hard surfaces | Surface material, area, dirt and expected cleaning time | Working pressure, flow, hose reach and compatible surface-cleaning attachment |
| Mud on tools or outdoor equipment | Equipment type, access and dirt to be removed | Rinsing flow, nozzle arrangement and water supply at the site |
| Oil or grease | Residue, surface material and required result | Suitable detergent and whether a hot-water process should be assessed; specify heating separately |
| Repeated daily cleaning | Hours per day, session length and pauses between jobs | Declared duty limits, maintenance schedule and matching service parts |

Compare working pressure together with water flow
Keep the pressure available during the quoted operating condition separate from the maximum pressure figure. Ask what each value means and which flow rate applies with the stated nozzle at working pressure. Pressure, flow and the cleaning attachment need to be evaluated together.
- Request working pressure, maximum pressure and their test conditions in the same units across offers.
- Ask whether the quoted pressure and flow were measured together, with which nozzle and at which setting.
- G200 series lists 200 bar rated pressure and 221 bar maximum; ES2-2H lists 80 bar rated and 100 bar maximum. Confirm the complete model and operating point in the quotation.
Put bar, PSI, L/min and GPM on the same worksheet
Convert the units before comparing two quotations. Keep the pressure label with the number: converting maximum pressure to PSI still gives maximum pressure. For GPM, confirm whether the quotation uses US or Imperial gallons.
- Pressure example: 100 bar × 14.5038 ≈ 1,450 PSI. These are the same pressure in different units.
- Flow example: 10 L/min × 60 = 600 L/h. Divide 10 by 3.7854 for approximately 2.64 US GPM, or by 4.54609 for approximately 2.20 Imperial GPM.
- Water-use example: 10 L/min for 20 minutes of spraying uses approximately 200 litres. This excludes other uses and does not confirm tank suitability or the required inlet flow. Ask for the machine’s inlet-supply requirement separately.

Choose the power source around the site
For an electric model, confirm the supply voltage, frequency, phase and connection requirements in its instructions. For an engine-driven model, confirm the fuel, engine identification and starting method. Ask about the proposed machine’s operating limits and suitability for the location; choose and operate equipment according to its manual.
- Electric: share the available supply and ask for rated input information.
- Engine-driven: discuss starting, transport and the stated operating conditions.
Match the pump and water supply
Request the pump model and the operating limits that apply to the complete machine. Confirm the required inlet supply, water quality and inlet temperature. Describe whether the source is a mains connection or a tank, and ask the supplier to verify that arrangement for the quoted model instead of assuming it can draw from any source.
- Ask which inlet hose, connector and filtration are required or included.
- Confirm any stated duty limits and the maintenance documents supplied.
Compare the accessories as part of the machine
Two similar machines may be quoted with different hoses, guns, lances and nozzle sets. Identify exactly what is included and confirm compatibility with the machine. If detergent use or a specialist attachment is needed, describe it at quotation stage and ask which arrangement is supported.
- Record hose length, pressure rating and connector types.
- List the supplied gun, lance, nozzles and any optional attachments.
- Request matching service-part references and written warranty terms.
